Had my growth sono today
I am 31 weeks she is measuring 4lbs 12 ozs and 33 weeks And she is breech! Thank goodness I am having a c-section.
I now have to go every week for a biophysical and a sono every 2 weeks because of the GD. I did lose 2 pounds this week

Re: Had my growth sono today
Is a biophysical the same as the nonstress test?
Congrats on the weight loss. I also have GD and gain every freakin' week...I think it's just the way I carry...oh well.

Re: Had my growth sono today
Yes I am pretty sure the biophysical is the same as the non stress test. They hook you up to the machine and everytime you feel a movement you press a button (If I remember correctly, it has been 3 years)
Hayley ended up being born at 35 weeks and was 6lb 13ozs...I can't imagine giving birth to a baby about 9 or 10 pounds (that is what DH and I think she will end up being in the end)

Hmmmm...I don't know if it's the same then...the non stress test is where they hook you up to watch the baby's heartrate and to see if you are having contractions...
Eitiher way good luck with everything

Re: Had my growth sono today
I'm so nervous about the baby's size because I too have GD. At my last sono though a week and a half ago (I was 28 1/2 weeks) the baby was measuring on target so hopefully now that I'm controlling the GD with diet and insulin the baby won't be a giant. Keeping my fingers crossed. On the plus side for me, since I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and started the diet I've lost 3.2 lbs. which is fine by me. Hopefully I will just stay right around where I am now for the duration of my pregnancy.

Re: Had my growth sono today
Not sure about the NST, but I had biophysical profiles every week from 28 weeks on. Basically, its a sono where they look for 8 elements - such as movement, practice breathing, etc.

Re: Had my growth sono today
Now I am confused...the nurse told me I will get a sono every 2 weeks...and I do remember going in for the nonstress test when pregnant w/Hayley...they hooked me up to a machine, they monitored her heartrate and everytime I felt her move I had to press a button.
Well what ever the test is called that is what I am doing every week now

Even though I had my GD controlled w/diet last time she still grew pretty big..she was born at 35 weeks and was 6lbs 13ozs

That's a good weight, I know she was early though. My friend just had her baby at 36 weeks and she was 6lb8oz and she didn't have GD so maybe that's an okay weight at that point in pregnancy anyway. I don't know, I get a little nervous but it's out of my control really and I doing everything I can to make sure the baby is fine. I am VERY closely following the diet they gave me and I take the insulin shots too so we'll see. I'll let you all know in 10 weeks how big this peanut is!!

Re: Had my growth sono today
Your Dr isn't sending you for sono's more often to keep track of his progress since you do have GD? My last Dr had me in all the time and now this Dr is having me come in once a week til I deliver.

Re: Had my growth sono today
5 days before DS was born they estimated his weight to be 8lbs 12oz. He was born at 9lbs. 3oz. They were pretty darn close!

I'm sure they will I just don't know when the next one is yet. I have a regular OB appt. in 2 weeks (I will be 32 weeks) and I'm 99% positive they will give me another sono that day to check on the . That's what happened at my last appt. I will let you know what happens.
