Those who've already had baby
I've read that the closer you get to your due date the less the baby moves around due to lack of space. I'm due in 2 weeks and this baby hasn't stopped moving the past two days. I've been getting a lot of BH contractions and I was wondering if the baby was responding to this. What was your experience with baby movement as you got close to delivering?

Re: Those who've already had baby
This ? is probably better served on the parenting board, but if I remember correctly, Kristina stopped kicking as much per say, but she would squirm around still and I could always feel the wretched hiccups that she had.....

Re: Those who've already had baby
DC kicked every 3 seconds right up until I got the spinal. I was told this is not typical though.

Re: Those who've already had baby
When I was pregnant with DS, starting around 32-33 weeks, DS's movements changed dramatically. Before that point, I used to feel tons of strong kicks and loved watching my belly wobble around from his movement. But as he began to run out of space, it was harder for me to feel that same type of movement...so much so, that I ended up in L&D a few times to get his movement monitored because I wasn't feeling him move.
The OB told me that the frequency of movements should not change, rather the type of movements. Instead of feeling strong kicks and punches, I had to watch for subtle movements and stretches. Often I would poke my belly just to see if I could get a reaction out of DS to make sure he was okay! What also didn't help was that DS began to have longer sleep cycles despite my drinking tons of sugar/juice (evidenced during the NSTs).
When I started laboring at home, I had back labor. I could feel him move between contractions so I knew he was okay. Once I got to the hospital, I stopped focusing on his movement because I was too busy trying to breathe through the contractions

Re: Those who've already had baby
DS moved constantly up until the Day I delivered. But my experience isnt much help as he was delivered by scheduled c-section due to size and my lack of progression.

Re: Those who've already had baby
DS was two weeks late - and he was still kicking like crazy up until I delivered him. I almost felt him to be more active towards the end - I think because there was less room for him.

Re: Those who've already had baby
I'm due in 12 days and my baby never stops...it's not so much kicking - it's a lot of rolling and hiccups...
I have to say I'm in a lot of pain down below...I think she may be a bit of a head-banger like her father!!!!!!! I actually can't drive more than 5 minutes at a time now because the pain gets intolerable (not contractions though).
