How can I prevent the dreaded...

I'm 34 weeks & I'm starting to see my feet swelling up. (not as bad as that pic though) What can I do to prevent this from happening?

No salt and keep your feet up.. other than that.. its inevitable as you get closer to due date.

Re: How can I prevent the dreaded...
my Dr told me limit salt and keep them up. (Some people say that your feet have to be higher than your heart when resting but my Dr said that is not true, just up on an ottoman is fine)

Re: How can I prevent the dreaded...
Mine started at about week 25 or so. I wake up with them sometimes. I would suggest soaking in cool water and elevating them. Do not use warm water. They will just get bigger.

Re: How can I prevent the dreaded...
This happened to me this weekend when it was super humid and I'm only 21 weeks. I was walking around BBB with my mom and DH and all of a sudden I was like, where are my ankles????
I definitely needed more water - after I drank a ton and put them up for a bit, they went back to normal thank god (considering mine are not skinny to begin with this is a nightmare!)

Re: How can I prevent the dreaded...
From my gaga update this week..
"As if there's not enough to keep track of already, are you remembering to drink lots of fluids? Plenty of good ol’ fashioned H20 (water) can help reduce swelling in your poor ankles and feet-- resulting from the pressure your now over-sized uterus is putting on your pelvic veins, thereby slowing fluid circulation to the lower half of your body. Also, if you want to further reduce the dreaded appearance of pregnancy “cankles” (calf-ankles) try to avoid sitting for long periods of time..and for the hundredth time: don’t forget to stay active!!!!"
