I need to vent - UGH!
I belong to an Italian Greyhound-only forum. They did a "Christmas in July"Secret Santa. You were given someone else's name and had to buy for their IG ($20 limit). The person that you buy for is not the person that buys for you. I made a huge effort getting my person (well, their pup) things that I knew they would like. I bought them about 5 stuffed toys, some IG-sized tennis balls that I know their dog likes, some t-shirts and a few rope toys. I went over the limit and many people went over the limit as well, based on the pics posted on the Thank You thread. I think it was a pretty nice assortment of playthings for their dog.
Here's what Lilly received from my Secret Santa. 2 home made fleece braids, a stuffed skunk that sheds so much from the tail that I had to take it away from her because the hair was choking her and a treat dispenser.  We don't even give her treats because she has a sensitive stomach.
I'm sorry if this came across as ungrateful, I guess I'm just disappointed....  Especially after seeing pics of what everyone else received(and yes, I know that you take your chances when you participate in these things  )

Awww - Thanks Katie!
Yeah - the IG forum has been a lifesaver. This breed is so quirky and not all that common - it's nice to have a place to ask breed-specific questions and such.

ehhhh it's not much, but I don't think it shows a lack of effort. I think the fleece braids are adorable!

its not great but they probably spent the $20 limit that was given, you chose to spend more, (i probably would too) but you can't expect that whoever is giving to you will go over,
sorry you didn't get back such nice gifts as you gave

I have a suggestion for next year's event...everyone donate their $20 to IG Rescue..they definitely could use the cash.

There are a multitude of fundraisers with the profits going towards rescue going on allllll the time. Many people bought items for the exchange directly from rescue to keep money coming in. I donate to rescue whenever I can. This was just something nice to do for each others dogs.
