Everyone will have very different opinions on this. Always a hot topic.

I am willing to bet that we would all say to stay away from raw meats and fish.

But the best person to ask is your doctor.

I agree with leslie - everyone feels differently. Moderation is key in my book. I've been limiting caffeine to a bare minimum, avoiding cold cuts unless heated, hot dogs, alcohol obviously, tuna, etc. I would ask your doc for a list.

my doctor was tough... no caffeine... no processed foods.. no cold cuts unless heated (which grosses me out thinking about it) watch seafood with mercury.. no diet anything...use sugar instead of splenda and any other sweetener..

ive been ill most of the weeks anyway - i eat a lot of carbs - pasta, breads, crackers.. and fruit - and A LOT of water

** also - only take tylenol if in dying need.. no asprin or advil...

Re: Foods to stay away from

Everyone will have a different opinion. My Dr said I could drink diet soda in moderation (not a 2 liter bottle in 1 day but an 8oz glass is fine), he never told me to heat my cold cuts (which I would never do, it doesn't sound appetizing to me), I could use Splenda and I am allowed to take Claretin or Zyrtec or Benedryl for my allergies.

Every Dr says something different. Do a search on here and you will see how everyone's opinions differ.

Congratulations!!

Re: Foods to stay away from

This is what I avoid:

Raw fish - not that I ate that anyway

Certain types of fish that contain high mercury such as swordfish

Brie & Feta cheeses although they are considered "safe" if it is pasturized
Imported cheeses & meats

Salami & all those good italian meats such as prociutto & capicola

Alcohol & cigarettes (obviously)
