Spinoff to Peditricians

How & when do you pick one?

Thanks for all the advice. Anybody have any good recommedations in the Holbrook/Sayville/Stony Brook area? I'm afraid my OB/GYN will recommend someone is Smithtown and its just a little too far. I would love to find somewhere local AND a practice that had flexiable hours (this is a must).

When I had ds, I used the one in my neighborhood at first for convience. They ended up being horrible. i switched him at 4 months on a few friends recommendations but I have not been happy with them the past year. I am trying to get into a new office right now, so what I will do is go in and meet the dr maybe a month before I give birth.

My OBGYN recommended a couple. We made an appointment to interview the one that sounded best for us about 4 months before our DS was born. The appointment was not until 2 months before the baby was born. Luckily we liked the PED and decided to use him.

I actually completely forgot about picking a pediatrician, that when they asked me at the hospital..I didn't have one! So my OB recommended 1 practice and I went with them. We used them for DD for 2 years, now that we moved to Suffolk we are changing ped's for the new baby and DD. I actually have a consultation with them next week (1 week away from my EDD ) But I have faith that I will like them because I've heard great things about them.
