Baptism question

How soon can you baptise the baby after he is born? I am due Sept 25th and was looking to do it around Nov 9th. Do you think that is too soon? Are there any reqiurements? TIA

Re: Baptism question

I can only answer as far as the Catholic church is concerned, but there is no problem at all with having it that soon. Just check with your parish about scheduling, and register the baby as soon as possible after he/she is born.

We are planning on baptising our little one at about six weeks as well.

I think it is fine to have it as soon as you want. I had my DS baptism when he was 2.5 months.

Re: Baptism question

It's definitely not too soon. DH was baptized when he was one month old, as my MIL refused to take him out of the house unbaptized.

Re: Baptism question

Our baby is due on Sept 17 (repeat c-section).

I have already booked the church and catering hall for October 19th. He will be a little over 4 weeks.

DD was also christened at 4 weeks.
