Spinoff of Preggo Bridesmaids...how about post-baby?

I am going to be MOH at my sister's wedding four weeks after my due date...I was more worried about being 9 months PG, possibly missing the wedding if I went into labor, so this is a relief to me.

Has anyone here been a BM POST-giving birth? I know I will not be looking my best that soon after...but I am hopefully going to Spanx it up and order a forgiving dress (she is picking the color; we are picking our own styles).

Just curious as to how it went for anyone else. Thanks!

I recently asked about this (I'll be a BM at 5 months post partum). I'll bump it for you.

I am worse off than you! I am MOH in my sisters wedding which is exactly 9 days after my due date! I am just praying Chat Icon will come a little early and I plan on buying the best pair of spanx around and hoping for the best.

One of my friends was going to be a bridesmaid of mine and then chose not to when she realized it would be about 4 weeks after she gave birth. She said now that she is glad she wasn't in the wedding because she came just to the reception and left early because she was so tired and still recovering.

I think everyone's body is different and some people bounce back quicker than others even when all things are equal - but, I would say 5mo pp it is certainly possible to be back to pp shape - 4 wks pp - maybe for some people, but, not for me - no matter what i did!

My best friend got married November 4th. I had my daughter August 22nd. Although I had a little more time than most are talking about here, I was no where near what I wanted to look like. I just bought really good undergarments that held me in (although I gotta admit, it bothered my c section area a bit) and had a good time!

my sister was my MOH 3 months after she gave birth
she ordered her dress when she was about 12 weeks pregnant figuring she would hopefully be back down to that weight -

it was an empire - greek type of dress so it wasnt clingy at all

See, this is the type of dress I want...but it looks like Bill Levkoff doesn't make any dresses like that. Most of them are pretty form-fitting, so I am looking for one that gives me a little room.

Edited to add picture of dress I'm considering (it's the third one across on the page - a halter)Bridesmaid Dress

Re: Spinoff of Preggo Bridesmaids...how about post-baby?

I was MOH for my best friend when my oldest was 5 months old.

There were some challenges. It was my first 'extended' period of time away from DH - so I was highly emotional. I was breastfeeding and didn't have my breastpump or extra breastpads. I was super engorged and by the time I got home I was soaking wet.

But outside of that - it was good times!Chat Icon

I would probably order at least 2 sizes up just in case. You can always take a dress in, but you can't let it out. If you're BFing even if your stomach gets back to normal you might need the extra room in the boob area
