Need to vent...

So i went to the dr this morning for my 39w appt, and after waiting for over an hour for the dr to show up (why scheduale me for 10:40 if your not gonna get there until 11:50?), i got my first internal. im not dialated or even effaced at all!!!!! i started crying when she told me, i just want this to be over already! im misrable, i got 3 hours of sleep last night between the heartburn, back pain, and cramping. then to top it off she told me that i was positive for strep. i know its not a big deal but what pisses me off is that they tested me for it almost a month ago and they just tell me this now?!? i think its kinda an important thing for me to know! im just so aggravated, i feel like this whole pregnancy they barely tell me anything thats going on. everyone says to ask questions but i dont know what questions to ask, this is my first pregnancy after all. i go back on my due date, july 3rd, for my 40w appt and sono. lets hope, for my sanity, they can tell me ive made some kind of progress.

#1- i'm sorry that you haven't progressed at all. I know how anxious you must be at the end here. But just because nothing has happened yet, doesn't mean it can't happen tomorrow.

#2- i would be just as frustrated as you are with your doctor. I can't believe they wait until 39 weeks for the 1st internal. I don't know how you've waited this long for some sort of status report.

The whole strep thing... well i guess they didn't feel the need to tell you earlier because it really doesn't make a difference until you're in the hospital for when they set you up to the IV. But i would still have wanted to know.

that next week you'll have some better news and are closer to meeting your little one!

I know how fustrating it could be. I was in your shoes with my dd with the no sign of dilation and enfacement.. Then one day it all changed.. my dd was due on 9/21 and had her on 9/22.. it all can change in a blink of an eye.. So just keep thinking positive thoughts and the baby will be here sooner than you think!!

i know! i read on here all you ladies getting internals as early as 36w and this whole time im like what about me?

with the strep thing... ive read that its important to know bc in the case of an emergency and ur dr isnt there to tell them to start the antibidoics, its important for you to tell them to.

i just want to be informed, i hate not knowing. playing the waiting game absolutly sux!

I just wanted to give you a ray of hope. At my 39 week appointment I was zero effaced and zero dialated. The next day my water broke and I went into labor. I had to have a c-section b/c DS was breech, but immediately before the c-section I was 100% effaced and 7 cm.
