How do you pick yourself up and face the world
after a devastating blow?
I'm trying today..working from home (thanking an unbelievable boss) I couldn't face the world today. Too emotional to make any decisions.
I know some of you have had months or even years of struggles..I admire you. You are all so strong. Right now I don't feel that way. I have strength for others, but not myself.

I cried for a few days, then somehow got the strength to get up, dust myself off, and face the infertility head-on. It's amazing where the strength comes from, when you don't think you have any left.....
Give yourself a few days, Susan.....

I let myself have one good day of crying and then get back out into the world in baby steps. The first fews day I just go through the motions and limit contact with other humans. But you will get through it. Just take it one day at a time.

this is how I do it. I allow myself to cry and be upset and then see what the next day brings.

I start by being strong for other people and somehow that gets me going again. Creating a plan of what you are going to do next is also very helpful. But, it usually takes me about 3 days with my pity party. And I usually avoid everyone but this board.

I have no choice. I feel like I was put on this earth to be a parent and I will be one. I'm facing IF head on and making it a challenge and a goal to get pg. That's the only way it works for me. I think of IF as the enemy and I cannot let it take me over!!!!

I know it may seem like you'll never be able to get past it-that's what I thought too. I was an emotional wreck when we first found out we would have problems conceiving. But gradually you do come to terms with it. And you do research, get support from the amazing women on this board and you get your fighting gloves on!!
