I watched his show yesterday..what's the story?
She had twins, then sextuplets?
Was there IVF involved?

yes, twins, then sextuplets. she had IUI for both.

Oh I didnt know she had IUI. Good to know. I thought for sure it was IVF b/c of the sextuplets.
I have to admit though I LOVE this show. The sextuplets are so funny and I love to watch them interacting with each other. The twins get a little too sassy sometimes especially the one twin Mady. But they're all precious.

I watch this show too because I like everyone but Kate. IMO she is so mean to Jon with her comments and smacks to his face (like when they sit in the chair for interviews)

ITA...Seems like she's always putting him down. He's gonna end up resenting her if he doesnt already. I'm telling you that guy is gonna end up being a ticking time bomb......he can only bottle up so much anger/resentment towards her before he explodes.

i think she was on clomid as well as IUI!
that show made me do "unmedicated" IUI!!! its a great show tho and I love them all. Kate is a great mom and she is nice as she can be raising 8 kids 24 hours/day!! I think she is a great loving wife.... they all work well together.

She didn't have IVF with the sextuplets, they were concieved via IUI.

almost every case of high multiples is due to IUI.
IVF eggs are put back and you can control it better.
I like teh show. I used to hate Kate too but I have grown to understand her better
Im WAY nastier to my Own DH

She did IUI for both. She must have also had an irresponsible doctor who let her do IUI with that many follies. She originally concieved 7, but only 6 babies made it to birth. She must have had at least 10 follies that cycle.

Yes, she was actually in the hospital for OHSS.

She has mentioned on TV and on her webpage that the Dr said she had 3-4 Follicles that cycle. ( they only did Clomid) and I never heard about her in the hospital for OHSS).
3-4 was the target follies for my IUIS.
We cancelled over 5.

i doubt that - every episode they say that they only wanted "one more"

yes, they were all from IUI and Clomid. She mas mentioned it on a few shows.
There actually was 7 heartbeats, and at 15 weeks she was bleeding and went to the DR. and then only saw 6 heartbeats. Yes, she was againts selective reduction.
I LOVE this show. I have a lot of her qualities in me, such as the whole schedule thing

The only thing that made our doctor nervous was the fact that we were absolutely opposed to reduction and that we were concerned about multiples again. We prayed about this and just like our peace about returning in October f or this, we felt peace about proceeding. So we did! Five weeks later, (after my hospitalization for over stimulated ovaries) we were at our initial ultrasound and learned the news.
Does it make sense to any of you that she could have 3-4 follies and have OHSS and get 7 sacs? Did they do an ultrasound before the IUI?

the show is on TLC, monday nights at 9:00, but there are reruns all the time. the twins are almost 8, and the sextuplets are almost 4.
from what i have seen (and you could check the website to make sure) none of the babies have any serious health issues - one, aiden, wears glasses, but that's all i have noticed. on the show, they all seem like "normal" children, but i don't really know the specifics.

That's what I don't understand also.

I agree, my doctor told me he see's x-amount of follies but there may be more. The sonogram can't always get the best view.
