A dog just tried to attack my dog...
while I was walking her!!!
I took my almost 85 year old grandma out for a walk and decided to bring my dog w/ us. Everything was fine and all of the sudden my grandma says "Is he on a leash?" and I look and there's a huge dog darting towards us. 
I got in between him and my dog w/ my poor grandma hanging on to me for dear life...  I started screaming at the dog, hoping its owner would come out and it stopped about a foot away from me and then darted around the other side of me to get to my dog again... it started jumping on her and I pulled my dog and got back in between them again... it was so scary. Thank God he didn't try to bite her because I don't know what I would've done...
I kept shouting for it to go and then we moved and i kept saying 'stay' figuring maybe it would know that since it's a common command.
I couldn't even hurry away w/ my dog b/c of my grandma...  It was really scary--- I'm just glad my pup is ok, along w/ my grandma (I thought she was going to have a heart attack).
No one was even home at this person's house--- unless they didn't have a car. I ran into the ppl that live across the street from them and she said that there are all sorts of people living in that house- and with that I saw a car pull into the driveway. I'm so tempted to go and say something but I don't want to go back if the dog is still out w/o a leash... what is wrong w/ people!!

OMG how scary! i would have called the police or the SCPA - a loose dog is not a small matter!!

Something similar happened to me a few months ago while we were out walking our dog. In our case, the owner just watched as her dog pinned down and tried to maul ours, and then after DH forced the dog off, she walked away without an apology. I hate people sometimes.
Glad you & your doggie & grandma are ok!

 Wow. Scary. I am so sorry. Glad you are all OK.
I was out walking with DS a couple weeks ago when this black lab came charging out of nowhere.. I froze. I LOVE dogs, but, he was excited and jumping all over the place. Like You did, I yelled "Sit" "Stop" everything I could think of. I tried walking away, it followed. When the dog started sniffing DS I freaked and yelled again.
Thank Goodness (again out of nowhere) this guy was out running. Goes to me "Awww you have a cute dog"..Ummm NO he's NOT mine. He stopped immediatley and was able to calm the dog down. We were able to read the tag and he picked up the dog and brought him home. I Thanked him a million times and continued on with my walk.
I still freak out thinking of it. All I thought about was protecting DS. Then next AM I woke up with scratches and a bruise on my thigh...Needless to say, I was Pizzed.
