I liked my proposal (in a row boat in Central Park), but I wish I was a little more surprised. I kind of had a feeling it was about to happen. DH had planned to propose on the beach at night in Cape Cod a week before that, but his sister and brother came along with us to the beach. That would've been a great proposal too.

I always wanted to be proposed to either on the beach or by the Rockefeller Christmas tree - DH didn't even know this and he proposed to on the beach where we met. I wouldn't have changed a thing, considering that's where I always imagined myself getting engaged.

Would have been exactly the same... maybe FH could have said what he had planned to say...(he was nervous so he just blurted out "Jennifer, will you marry me?")...maybe a warmer night though

I didn't really have one, so I think I would have liked to be really surpised, b/c it is hard to surprise me. I don't need all the textbook romantic stuff though--and defintely. . . . .

same here 
I'm the girl that gets sooooo excited when I see proposals on TV, in real life, etc....and I'll never know how amazing it feels to be surprised/shocked/overwhelmed all at once.

I wouldnt change my proposal at all. It was done in my living room on a Saturday. We had just finished opening up his birthday gifts and he said that there was one present he wanted that I didnt get for him so he went out and brought it on his own. So I said to him, what didnt I get you and he said "what I want for my birthday is for you to be my wife, will you marry me" It may have been simple words but it meant the world to me.
