Drunk Drivng spinoff
Do you find yourself being even more aware of your surroundings when you drive on holiday weekends?
I drove home tonight because DH was drinking and I was very aware of every car near me and if I suspected someone was driving weird I was be sure to get away from them asap.

absolutely...and honestly, any given day, If I am driving after 2am, I assume everyone is drunk and am super paranoid

Definitely. DH had two beers tonight....no where near drunk but I still drove home.
Also if I'm driving and someone around me looks like they are "unstable" I will steer clear.

Yes! My DH and I had the kids at my ILs house this past NYE and we drove home in separate cars and I had the kids with me. I was actually praying all the way home - I didn't encounter anyone but I was afraid and had all kinds of horrible thoughts running through my head about us all getting home safe.

Yes! We were driving home last night and when I saw a guy in handcuffs on the side of the road, 2 cop cars and the cop talking to the guy in cuffs I assumed it was Drunk Driving. This was even before we got on the L.I.E.
It was in Riverhead by Tanger.

I'm always worried about it.
I have always been this way - especially after the death of my friend about six years ago -- and now, even more. I worried about my family, DH, my friends and myself -- but no matter how much you worry - sometimes, sadly, it doesn't make a difference.

Yes I am always very aware. I worry for my dad more because he goes to work at 4 in the morning and I can't imagine the number of people drunk on the road at that time, especialy on the weekends.

Oh yeah. I made DH switch lanes Sunday night because the guy next to us was going in and out of his lane. Made me nuts.

OMG, yes. And people driving around yesterday were total morons. I had to change lanes a couple of times and once I actually pulled onto the shoulder because there were TWO cars swerving right next to me!

Yes- I worry more about other drivers when I am driving home late on weekends or holidays or times where I feel there might be more drunks on the road.
