dr. appt and on bed rest
I just came back from my 36 week appt and today Ive been having alot of braxton hicks yet they are more painful than usual and some other sharp pains in my belly. So i told the dr. I was uncomfortable today. After she examined me and said the babys head is pretty far down but no dilation. She said my cervix is softening which is typical the further her head goes down. So i asked how far down and she said either plus 1 or minus 1. I cant remember what she said. What is the measuring chart they go by for this type of thing? She was going to send me L&D just in case to check the contractions but then told me it was better to go home and rest and if they got worse or closer together, to then call them and go to L&D. Any words of advice? What is this plus 1 or minus one thing? Thanks ladies..

Re: dr. appt and on bed rest
the +1 or -1 is how far down into your pelvis the baby is... +1 is higher up than -1, and the lowest (i believe) is either -3 or -4.
i don't have any words of advice but i hope you are able to rest easily... your LO will be here before you know it!
