Is there any way to make an eternity band larger?

My wedding rings still dont fit me...I know I still have more baby weight to lose but I dont think 15 lbs. is going to make all the difference. I can get my e-ring enlarged no problem, but my wedding band is an eternity band and I dont think they can make it bigger Chat Icon I haven't worn my wedding rings in almost 2 years and it is really upsetting me

ETA: If you have had your rings re-sized, how much did it cost? Mine are platinum.

They might be able to stretch it a smidge...but I don't think you can resize an eternity band due to the diamonds.

i wonder if they can shave it down a little but I'm not sure b/c there has to be enough metal there to hold in the diamonds...

I wish they told us when we bought it we should always go a little bigger Chat Icon

I think you would have to get it re-set

I just looked at mine and I don't see how they would make it bigger

I thought I remeber my jewler saying it's tough to go bigger/smaller, it would have to be reset. I could be wrong

I am sure they can but its going to cost you!! You have to add more diamonds!! Also if you plan on losing that last 15 it will definately show in your fingers. I will bet you anything... But then you can get the balls put in. Chat Icon

I had my bead set eternity band made smaller and they didn't charge us (they kept the 'extra' platinum). The jewler said they had to send it back to Ritani to do it. I had it appraised after it was re-sized and there was nothing 'funny' done to it Chat Icon I don't know if my experience helps you since it was to go smaller, but I did have it done.

How did the make it smaller? Did the make the metal thicker or did they have to remove the diamonds, cut it, etc. If so, that is probably the same thing I would need done only to add more metal and a few extra diamonds.

Honestly, I’m not 100% sure - It LOOKS like they just cut it and removed the excess metal/diamond(s). I know DH had a credit with the jeweler that he had used on another band for me, so maybe that was for any extra diamond(s)? It was only a half size too big.

Unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do - I wanted an eternity band but was told at a few of the stores that if there was ever a chance I would want to resize it up or down I wouldn't be able to - so I ended up getting a half eternity instead. That must be very upsetting - have you taken it anywhere and had them look at it - maybe consider getting it reset?

My grandmother gave me her eternity band and I had to have it reset. 2 jewelers told me they couldn't do anything with it.

ETA: It was a platinum band and I was able to get some money from the scrap metal to put towards the new ring.
