How involved is DH/SO in the pregnancy?

My DH just signed up for a dads to be newsletter. I also found out recently that he subscribes to What to Expect's weekly emails! I thought it was so cute.

My DH checks the week by week emails, and has his own little ticker on the bottom of his screen at work (he told me ).

He says goodbye to the baby every morning and gives my belly a kiss.

DH hasn't signed up for anything like that.

But he does make sure I have a lunch packed everyday. He makes sure I'm eating healthy (though sometimes he contributes to the delinquency of eating bad by asking a pregnant woman if she wants Carvel). When I go to the doctor he always asks if he needs to go. I told him only when it's sono's or something big, but he doesnt have to go to every one (but he still asks just to be sure) If I ask for anything he always gets it for me. If he see's me struggling to get up he tells me to sit he'll do it. He helps me with things around the house. I've been having trouble getting in and out of his SUV so he always gives me a little boost and makes sure I am in safely.

He just makes sure I am always comfortable and well taken care of

I used to forward my boyfriend the weekly What to Expect emails about the baby's growth. He would also kiss and hug and talk to the baby via my belly every night. The last few weeks he would rub my Cocoa Butter lotion onto my belly because I wasn't able to see it all

He was a good expectant first time daddy. And he is an amazing dad! You will see your DH/SO's in an entirely different light and you fall in love with them all over again when you see them with your child!!!!

We have one joint e-mail account and he sometimes reads the weekly updates and fills me in on how and what Im feeling.

He reads every finance related article to child rearing and pregnancy so we can budget. And again---->

He is looking forward to the childbirth classes we signed up for and it encouraging with BFing, but is perfectly fine if it doesnt work for us.

He never makes me walk very far if we are out and about - dropping me off at the door to wherever we need to be.

He plays classical music on headphones and puts them on my belly. So far, she like Mozart and Chopin.

Finally, he actually talks to my belly every night. He says hello to Ed-lie, tells her he loves her and sometimes leaves her with advice or a funny anecdote. Last night, after my fateful screen-popping incident, he told her that he has higher hopes for her than he does for me. I didn't expect anything different .

he will email me news articles relating to babies and stuff like that sometimes. he doesn't mind talking about baby stuff... and he doesn't miss a sono! but i wouldn't say he's overly involved at all. i can barely get him to finish the pregnancy book i got for him - and it was written by a guy, for guys!

Some of you are so lucky. I'm happy that my DH even wants to come with me to visit the doctor. He's the type who thinks his deed his done after he's done his "duty." :P.

well, he doesn't get any newsletters or stuff like that, but he is present at every dr's appt, talks to Crouton (sometimes even argues a bit ) and is now poking around my belly waiting to feel a kick....

He also insists on doing a lot of extra stuff at home (everything remotely strenuous), and won't let me carry anything beyond my laptop bag....

Very. He runs to the store for any craving I have, he rubs my sore feet when I ask and he talks to the baby almost every day! I love him!!

Very much so! He's always talking to my belly - peeking into my belly button (what's left of it ) pretending she's right there looking out
Reads all the newsletters week by week.
Attends most Dr appts, never misses a sono and attends lamaze as well. He's very excited to meet her

DH was so involved in my first pregnancy, he read all my baby books and also read up on breastfeeding so when it came time for me to BF my DD he was able to help me a lot!

I bought him a book on everything the father to be needs to know. He travels with it during his commute and reads it on the train, I think that is so cute!

He is very interested in taking a child birth class. We went to one and he asked when the next class is.

He also was very into getting her room complete and was very involved with my baby shower as he and my mom threw it together.

He talks to my belly just about every night when he comes home from work.

Dh hasnt signed up for anything but I am always giving him updates on what I read and what stage the baby is in, etc.
