don't let her fool you...
see this cute little face... <--------- don't let it fool you. She is so cute because she is a little devil -and it's her only defense!!
Ok seriously though - I need advice. Talia has taken it to the next level...she is now having fits when anyone holds her but me. She instantly stops crying when I take her. I dont get it - I always let other people hold her -she has been great with everyone - now all of a sudden she throws a FIT when I am not the one holding her. Not only is this bothering me, but my Dh, Mom and MIl too!!
THe side effect of this is that I am not able to leave her - I haven't had a moment to myself in weeks. We can't go out at night - i cant even run to the grocery store.
What to do? The crying is severe! we have tried letting her CIO (As a last resort)-it doesnt work...she has more wil power than we do.
Is it just a phase I let pass? or is there something I can do to make it better?

Re: don't let her fool you...
My daughter went through a short phase like that too. I would just let her go to my Mom (she never did it to my DH though) and I would slowly ease out of the room and go in another room and as soon as I heard her fuss I would give it a couple of minutes, come back in. I was showing her that Mommy will always come back. She is better with everyone except my father, step mother and my IL's because she doesn't see them often and they get too in her face. She will go to anyone else though as long as they don't get right in her face.

Re: don't let her fool you...
I'm going threw the same thing! I can't leave my house with out Julia flipping out, DH calls me a few minutes after I leave to tell me shes histerical, I can't get a brake!! When I'm around my mom and my MIL and they want to hold her, she starts to look for me and then cries till I hold her again, my MIL said that she has to start getting use to other people and so did my mom (which is annoying to hear) but shes is around a lot of family often, but she is just so attached to me right now. I guess its because I'm always with her, I'm a SAHM and I BF her too, I'm mostly the only person she see's so much. I like the fact she only wants me cause it makes me feel good, but when I need a brake its annoying!

Re: don't let her fool you...
Both mine went through the same thing for a short time. I would play peek-a-boo with a blanket (now you see me, now you don't.where's mommy?), than play around the corner or in a doorway. Next when she was crying I would have someone else get her & bring her to me. So they would get used to the idea that someone was helping them get to mommy.
Good luck - and you know what..she's so cute, she could get away with this for decades...

Ryans starting to get like this....
He rarely will even take a bottle from anyone else but me...
As you may know...its not about me letting him go with other people... CERTAIN people are here 3-5 days/week and when that CERTAIN person is here...I dont even get to hold my son
I dont know if he'll get as clingy as talia is right now...but I didnt do anything to promote it!
* However apart of me selifishly loves it*

Jen - she was doing so well! It's probably all normal growth changes w/ her personality. I'm sorry you're having such a tough time! I wish I had some advise for you...
