Does anyone have a Blackberry Pearl?
I am looking into getting it...because I like the fact that it is SO small for a blackberry-
BUT - my concern is that it might be too small to comfortable type emails on and that the screen might be too small to read emails...
Does anyone have it? Can you let me know what you think of it?

What carrier do you have? You can always go to a store and play around with the demo model to see how you like it, see how the key pad feeld to you, etc.

I have Verizon.
I went to the store this weekend and played with it- but it was hard to tell because it wasn't a "live" phone.
It did seem very small- which is my concern.
I was just wondering if anyone had any real life experience with it and could tell me how it is to actually read and/or send an email on it...

I have it and love it. I have never had a blacberry before, and some people who have blackberry's say they wouldn't like that the letter keys are shared. It doesn't bother me, but it is a little hard to type on, I am always typing with my nails.
I would recommend the phone.

I opted not to get it. I use my blackberry alot for sending emails, and I didn't like that it's basically like the texting keys, because they are all shared. I wanted a regular keyboard. I wound up with the blackberry world phone and I love it!

i was considering getting this phone. i know two people who have it and one loves it.. (doesnt use it for email too much) and the other uses it for work and hates it.. buttons are too small, hard to type fast and it doesnt have a full key board. i opted not to get it but verizon just introduced the blackberry curve.. i just got it on friday and i loove it.. maybe try that. its a little bigger than the pearl, has a full keyboard and the screen is bigger. hth

My mom has the pearl-got it when it first came out in red-she never had a blackberry before, she liked it in the beginning, but it's been in PIA for various reasons, especially typing and the screen size-she wants the curve for that reason. They have at&t.

I have it, I love the phone, the internet features on it, and the color (I have it in pink).
But, the keys are VERY small. Luckily I don't email a LOT on it for work, I just use it to be knowledgeable of what email came in, and to sync my Outlook Calendar to it.
If you have to send LONG emails from it, I would stay away from this phone. Otherwise, it's great!

See that's the thing. I LOVE how it looks -(and the fact that's it's so cute and PINK!). I also love the fact that it's so small- and will fit easily in my small purse. I feel like the other blackberrys look bulky.
But I just have this feeling that if I had to do more than just look at emails- like you said- that is will be a huge PIA.
Someone at work has the Curve...I looked at it today- it seems much more practical and it's not as big as the other blackberrys... I might consider that one now that Verizon has it.
But that Pearl is just so darn pretty!

I just got the Blackberry curve in Titanium last month. I really love it! So much fun cause I like little gizmos and gadgets to play with. I am still exploring the phone but so far it can text and email great. I also go the case, charger, and bluetooth with it and I love AT&T.
There was a 100 rebate with it, think it is still around.
Enjoy! It is fun!!

I have one and loved it mostly for its size and functions, but I recently switched to the iPhone. I had no trouble with replying to emails but I also didn't reply to emails with frequency. I ultimately switched because of my internet usage. The Blackberry can't handle larger websites/pages and that always drove me insane. The iPhonejust happen to fit my needs better (which was MP3, photo and internet usage.)
FWIW, my DH opted for the BB Curve because he needs to send out a lot of business emails when he's on the road.

I have and love it. I use it for email - though mostly reading not writing. I DO respond to emails on it, but generally not lengthy responses.
