What is everyone packing...
for the baby?? I know you don't need diapers or wipes or anything like that...but do you pack clothes besides the going home outfit?!?!

I live almost walking distance from the hospital. I wont be packing much more than maybe a diaper and coming home clothing.

All I have for him is his coming home outfit and a blanket to cover him in his carseat. Other than that, it's one big empty diaper bag that I plan on bringing all the hospital freebies home in.

You don't need any clothes for the baby except the going home outfit, the baby will wear a hospital top and be wrapped in a blanket.

All you really need is your stuff, and if you want to BF, you may want to bring your boppy.
And for the baby.... all you need is the baby's coming home outfit.

I have heard that it is good to bring wipes b/c the hospitals typically only give gauze and water.

My hospital provided wipes (Pampers sensitive) and diapers (also Pampers). In fact, we got loads to bring home with us.
They also provided blankets and the little tops (with the fold downs to cover the hands) that we were also told to take.
So- all we needed for DD was her coming home outfit and her carseat.
ETA: I also had DH bring in the Boppy which was a lifesaver while BFing.

just got home yesterday from the hospital yesterday. you dont need anything but the baby's going home outfit. maybe some burp clothes though. We didn't even think of that and at Good Sam they only had these paper towel type things. Also remember to pack a little blanket to wrap over  when taking he/she home in the car seat. It is getting warmer but it can't hurt because the weather is so unpredictable.

oh yes, you definitely need the boppy. It's great for feeding but even better for all your visitors that will want to hold DC.

Just to add to that if your BF...make sure to bring lanolin ointment!!! They may have these hydra gel pads at the hospital too , they had them at good sam. they are AMAZING! They are these cool gel discs that you just stick in your bra and they are so soothing!
