My daughter (5th grade) has been telling me for the past couple days that one of her classmates is in the hospital and she thought it was because she had asthma.
Today she came home with a letter from the principal saying that the girl has leukemia. I just feel so bad. I can't even imagine if this were my child. Bad enough adults get things like this, but a child?
**UPDATE**
I just saw the teacher this evening at a school function. The poor child has adult leukemia (a pretty bad case of it too) and will be in the hospital for at least 4 months.
I feel like I need to do something but don't know what. I'm just so upset about this.
I'm so sorry to hear this. I also have a 5th grade daughter and can imagine how hard this information must be for kids that age to process. I'll keep this child in my prayers.
Awwww since I have been here at the Ronald MAcdonald house I have seen many children come and go with all illnesses and it is very surprising to see alot of them have great spirits and some are really sick. I have met at a few different children with different cancers and ages from 2-17 and it breaks my heart to see them soo ill!!
