I had my first sono today.
I had an external sono. As I suspected, I ovulated about 1 week late so I'm closer to 7 weeks than 8 weeks. The baby's heartbeat was 142. The sono technician said everything looked good. I now have an EDD of December 25th. I have pictures, but it's difficult to really see anything It looks like a little peanut.  Even though I was 95% sure I ovulated late, I'm still a little nervous that I'm technically behind based on my LMP. I'm  that everything will be ok.

I wouldn't worry about being a few days behind. I was 4 days behind at my 8 week sono (because of late ovulation) and by the 12 week one baby had caught up to it's estimated due date.

Interesting that you didn't have an internal sono--they told me that the baby would be too small and they wouldn't be able to get a great look at it until I'm at least 12 weeks. I guess every Dr. is different!

Yeah!!
I'm 11 weeks and all my sono's to date have been internals. I'm going to the hosptial next Tuesday for the nuchal translucency which will be my first external. I didn't know they could do them that early!!
Don't be nervous. I'm about a week off based on my LMP.

She said it may be too early, but she was going to try an external sono first. If she couldn't get a good reading, she would do it internally. She zoomed in on everything to see it better, but she found everything right away. I expected to have an internal sono, but it was nice to not have one.

YAY!!!! How exciting!!!!!! They gave me an EDD of 12/24!!!! But I haven't had my first sono yet  I can't wait to go!!!!! One more week!!!!!!!!!!

We got our BFPs around the same time so that sounds about right. The sono will give you a better idea of your EDD. Good luck!

How exciting. I ovulated late with this one too. I knew I did though. But they still wanted to do a sono at what they thought was 7 weeks...it was really 5, and all they saw was the sac, next week, they saw the sac and the yolk sac, and finally the following week, we saw the baby and the heartbeat!!!
As long as the baby is growing, everything is fine!
