Maternity clothes

All I can say is, I'd better be pregnant the same seasons next time. I have spent so much money on clothes Chat Icon

Anyone else feel this way?

Re: Maternity clothes

My mom actually bought be a lot of stuff in the beginning, being the eager grandparent she is.

But I agree, I definitely spent more money than expected.

Re: Maternity clothes

Yes!! Maternity clothing gets very expensive. It never seems to be on sale (or a good one at that)

Re: Maternity clothes

Yup. It gets very expensive. I gave away/donated all of my maternity clothes, so I'm starting (will be because I'm still wearing my regular clothes with the exception of the secret belly jeans I got) back up from scratch.

Re: Maternity clothes

I have spent a lot also! But, I did well. Everything I have bought I have gotten a lot of use out of. I didn't buy anything that seemed wasteful or that is still hanging in my closet unworn. The two purchases that bothered me the most were two dresses for weddings - a bridesmaid dress which I'll never rewear (I was 31 weeks pregnant) and a dress for a wedding I'm attending this Saturday (but I bought it in black just in case I need a fancy dress next time I'm pregnant and have a wedding at 36 weekss Chat Icon ).

Re: Maternity clothes

I guess I'm lucky since it seems I will be pregnant in every season. I was thinking to myself at least I should be able to rewear everything.

Plus I got some good deals on winter stuff which I should be able to wear when I've almost done!

I like forever21 and similar stores like Charlotte Russe. They got some cute babydoll tops that are really affordable and trendy at the same time.

If you're close to the city, check out Century 21 too. I visited a few days ago and grabbed a bunch of cute tops from the 2nd floor's young miss section.

Re: Maternity clothes

i bought a lot of stuff in the beginning that was bigger but not maternity, things i can wear after the baby is born. i am also not wearing many maternity shirts yet, just pants, and i don't think i spent too much on them, maybe $300 total on jeans, work pants and capris. i am trying to wear as many t-shirts and sleeveless shirts as i can from last summer, but they are getting tight so i think i will need to go shopping again soon!

Re: Maternity clothes

I can't wear regular-sized baby doll stuff from a lot of stores because I am tall and the torso's are too short for me.Im not quite ready to have my belly sticking out.

Re: Maternity clothes

I have spent almost $700 already. I anticipate I will spend much more by the end. I am cutting corners everywhere else in order to do this. I have to buy work clothes and casual clothes and am very particular on what I wear and will not wear. I try to buy sale items, but if I like it I will buy it, especially if it makes me feel better about my changing body. I told my DH to expect this when we got pregnant. I typically never buy anything for myself, but now...watch out !!!Chat Icon

this is the truth right here! i went into motherhood yesterday and they seem to think that 30 bucks on sale is a good price from 35 bucks.. thats not a good sale!! And the target by my house has literally ONE rack of farty maternity clothes. Chat Icon

Re: Maternity clothes

yes and no...My friend gave me a bunch of her clothes, since she was preggo the same season as I am.

Only thing I really invested in was a few shirts and pants as my belly grows

Re: Maternity clothes

I just went to the Old Navy in the Source Mall this week and got some capris for $13.99....I didn't have any luck there a few months ago but I like some of the items that they have out for spring/summer. I also bought some of the regular t-shirts...just in a bigger size.
