Last baby on my baby ticker!
OMG!!! I'm not ready for this...
3 weeks from tomorrow I'm being induced. I still don't have the furniture in the room yet. Oh well, my Jewish family would prefer it not be in until the baby comes anyway. The dresser should be here next week, and I can make the same arrangements for the crib. I meet my pediatrician on Saturday and I still have to make my final decision on cord blood banking... we've just been so busy. I have coupon for Viacord. Anything else I'm forgetting? My last working day should be 4/25. I wish I had more time to myself to prepare.
Do you complete your registry prior to the birth or should you wait until after? We still need quite a number of things. I did hear that BRU won't give you the 10% off coupon until after your due date? That's odd - who wants to shop right after having a baby????
Also do you buy a breast pump before or after the birth?

Oh boy..... congrats! Make sure the baby is added to your insurance. Some insurance comapanies require the ababy be added before...just double check

Re: Last baby on my baby ticker!
I would buy the brest pump before and I might even take it to the hospital so they can show me how to use it best.

Re: Last baby on my baby ticker!
You have 30 days to add the baby to the insurance and you usually need a social security number anyway. In the hospital it goes under my coverage.
I'm still getting different stories on maternity leave at my job, but whatever... I'll just wait until 4/25 at this point. I'd just like to know what happens if I don't have the "perfect delivery" and need extra time beyond 12 weeks to recover (I have a friend who had a bad episiotomy experience - it took her 12 weeks just to be able to pee in less than a half hour).
I like the idea of having the hospital show me how to use my breast pump. Would you bring it from day 1 or have DH bring it at another point (wouldn't want it to walk away, they aren't cheap).

Re: Last baby on my baby ticker!
As far as the breast pump goes.. I would wait to buy it until after baby gets here. I wanted to be sure that I would be able to breastfeed before I invested that money into a pump (since you cannot return them). Plus hospitals let you rent one for a month which I think is an awesome idea. See if you and baby can do it first before you spend the $$.
That being said, I did buy the Medela Pump in Style Advance before I got discharged since the lactation center in the hospital was selling it for $270 (as opposed to the $325 at BBB, BRU and Target). I LOVE IT!! It is so quick and easy to use and it doesn't hurt at all. You can pump both breasts at the same time in about 15 minutes. I was so scared of the pumps, but this little machine is my BFF!!!
