Just gave myself my first lovenox shot
I hate it and don't like it
I was proud that I did it and it took me 3 tries. The needle hurt a bit not really bad but it is the medicine I think that BURNS! It felt weird going in and I really hope that it gets easier. For those of you who use it, do you have any tips to make it easier?

I used to just try to grab and inch of "fat" and go as quickly as possible. I would count to 5 and wanted to be done. I would alternate sides because you will get a little tender if you keep hitting the same spot.
You do get used to it

I haven't done it myself yet, DH keeps doing it for me. But I'm going to have to start b/c at the end of the month his tour will switch for 3 days and he won't be home in the evening.

tips, inject it into your belly on either side of the belly button. The closer you are to the belly button, the more it hurts
I honestly thought it was a breeze.

and to add, yes, the medicine does burn a bit going in, not much you can do about that

I read to stay far from the belly button, so the needle part i think was more fear on my part. Ive only given needles in the belly to my mom...never me! The burning I am sure I will get used to. I just think after a week of this I should be fine...not loving it but fine.
