yes
except i let it control my life so much i dont even drive on highways 
every day, i am fine. . .I drive to and from work and i run errands, drive to family and friends etc.
but the first time i go to a new place i wont sleep teh whole night before and i also sweat the whole way there and back, i HATE it
I was considering taking a few driving lessons with an instructor but i dont know if that will help when i am no longer with him

I can be. Exactly as you described, like going somewhere new or going alone, or especially at night when its dark. But I have gotten better, and I always map out directions and make sure I'm comfortable with the way it sends me. I want to get a GPS, but I'm waiting for my next car because it will have it in it already.

Ditto.
I lived and drove in Manhattan for many years, so nothing scares me... well, except merging on a busy highway with semi-trucks doing 70 mph.
