Hormonal, Fat and Insane.....
I am going on 13 weeks, still nausueas (sp) 24/7, taking Zofran which blurs my vision soo bad that I can't read and sporting 2 spare tires!!!!
I decided to treat myself to some new maternity clothes to hopefully feel better. Dh is away for work, so my parents took Ava for the day.
I went to Destination Maternity in Melville/Huntington. They had some nice stuff. But, when I tried it on, I was grossed out. I don't look like I did during my last pg. I gained a lot last time, but it was all in my belly. This time around .
I look like I am wearing 2 inner tubes. One under my boobs and one under my belly button. Noooooothing looked cute on me. And the worst part is, I had no limit on what I could buy - but I hardly bought anything.
The lady checking out at the register next to me was tall and thin and well put together, while I look and feel like a schlump.. Then the sales clerk asked her about her pregnancy... and she said it's just wonderful, she only gets a tiny belly when pg, and hasn't been sick for one minute...
It took all the restraint I had not to jump her in the parking lot... What did I do next, cry in the car and then get fries at the Mc Donald's drive-thru..

Re: Hormonal, Fat and Insane.....
as a fluffy preggo myself, I feel your pain. I finally am beginning to look pregnant (vs looking like I'm sporting a beer belly) this week (12 weeks). I still have the inner tube thing going on in the same spots as you.
It's all good..... we're not going off to a fashion shoot.... we're incubating a child! All the misery is worth it. besides, for every thin woman who feels nothing and looks great, there are 10+ preggos feeling even more miserable than us....
besides, we're all happier being pregnant and miserable than when we were TTC for months on end those are truly the most horrible and uncertain of times we had to endure.... and many of us had such amazing things we had to endure just to become a fluffy house.... we have to all be grateful we're preggers... despite the indignities and bloat.
sometimes it's a good thing to look like a house

Re: Hormonal, Fat and Insane.....
i'm 12wks 2days and I'm still getting boughts of m/s...(love that zofran). and I hear from my mom all the time "wow I was never sick with you or your brother...I can't believe your getting so sick." Blah blah...
also, just this week, I'm sporting a little bump...I was looking just fluffy before.
Hang in there, don't let anything people say to you get you down...you do what is best for you and your baby

You are absolutely right. I shouldn't complain, considering how long we tried for this baby. It just get's tough being soo sick for such a long time!!
I will stop complaining and try to remember to be grateful!!!

Re: Hormonal, Fat and Insane.....
I'm glad you feel better....
As for the severe morning sickness, my friend is about 25 weeks, and has constant severe m/s... such a horrible horrible thing to endure... she can hardly swallow water.... you're definitely no alone....
for the bloaty part... I think I looked sort of preggo when I was TTC Embarassing but true. I have avoided taking belly pics until it looks like definite preggo belly. I told DH I think I should take my first pic this week, finally I know I'll get cracks from crumb saying 'what, that's 12 weeks, looks like 30
'
it's all for a good cause

Re: Hormonal, Fat and Insane.....
It ain't easy being fluffy and preggo. I am right there with ya sista! I look like I have two inner tubes as well and I am sure it will be a while before I actually look like I have a person inside me! I went to Target yesterday to pick up a couple of cheap bras and brought them home...I felt like I was chopping off my upper half!! A friggin 40DD was too tight! But like the others have said... who gives a flying fig as long as I get to have a kid in the fall!! Hang in there hun. I hope your m/s is getting better and better everyday!!
