In the name of self-preservation...
I called my OB/GYN's office and asked them not to call me with the AFP results from the bloods I had drawn this past Monday. They noted my chart.
At the Ultrascreen, the doctor told me I could skip the AFP altogether and go straight to the amnio or I could have the AFP screening done. I opted to have it done and still planned on the amnio regardless.
Since the amniocentesis gives definitive information, I decided today that I would wait until I saw the doctor on Wednesday and THEN decide if I wanted to know any results. DH was in full agreement and fully supported my choice. Also, I prefer that he is with me, when I am given diagnostic information.
I know that there are lots of false positives with this and I couldnt handle being that statistic. I need facts and not "possibilities" or "what ifs". By doing this, I gave myself a few days more of peace.

Thanks. I figure, whatever will be will be. I am nervous enough as it is and why torture myself anymore than I have to. The waiting period after the amnio will prove to be challenging enough. I am hoping to keep myself distracted by positive thoughts.
