Mediums, any thoughts?
Has anyone done this before? I am totally not a spiritual person but I feel I need to know somethings about how my dad is doing etc... I looked under George Andersons website. it is so expensive but might be worth it for my sanity. If u feel skeptical believe me, I feel the same way. I just want to know if anyone has had any good outcomes or thought about this at any time. Thanks Paulette

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
No i have never seen one and i never would. Just becausei really don't believe in people who can "talk" to the dead. Or see what is going on with them. And i think it is sick that these kind of people prey on griefing relatives...

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
I have seen one. His name was Jeffrey Wands. He was in Port Washington at the time. I believe he had a talk radio show a few years ago. Honestly, I am the BIGGEST skeptic but he said things concerning my mom and family that were dead on. Coincidence or not? Who knows? All I know is that he said some very specific things. I don't have his number on me but I am sure I can find it for you if interested.
I am sorry to hear about your father.

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
I wouldn't do this for a few reasons.
1- I think a lot of people out there are scammers. I do believe that people have a gift, but nearly as many who say they do. I don't think they can turn it on and off once the check cleared...
2. If you believe in spirituality, then you have to trust that we all have a journey. I think that summoning a spirit, especially a new spirit, is not good to them. They need to find their place. They may come to you.
A few months after my dad died, my mom's friend called her and told her she had a dream abotu my dad. In 50 years she never remembered a dream in her life and she believed my dad "came" to her in a dream. He said that he was OK and with his mother and to tell us he was doing well. He even used the nickname he called us.
I don't know if I am making any sense, but what you need to figure out is what are you looking for? are you looking to hear he is Ok? What if he is? What if he isn't? Is that what you're not at peace with, or is it the loss that you are not at peace with. Once you can be at peace with the loss, the rest falls into place.
If you will turn anywhere, I think its better to turn to religion, whatever religion you are, than to a medium. JMO.
ETS: If you are gonig to do this, I would wait until a few months after your dad's death.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I know what a tough time it can be.

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
My mom's good friend is a medium, when my grandmother passed away my mom went to her a lot and she really helped. My cousin (who was the biggest skeptic) went to her and he couldn't believe how good she was. I haven't had the need to go myself, but i can recommend her if you need.

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
I went to see one recently. This man could NOT have known what he did about me.
I sat down and he asked for my name. He then told me he saw my daughter but I never got to "see her". HE asked me if she died during Birth ( which she did) ..There is no way under god that this man could have known this.
He then said my Uncle was sitting next to me ...my uncle died in April. He laughed and said wow what a big guy he was, is that why he never left his room. He told to tell me to apologize to my mom for the taking care of him the last few months ....all of which was true and again, nothing this man could ever have learned from me or anyone.
He went into extreme details.
He said quote" Its good you moved because the extra bedroom youhave is going to be a nursery soon." How could he have known we moved to a place with an extra room?
HE named my grandmother who had just died by name and when he was speaking of my uncle he said hes happy because your going to have a little billy soon and he was amazed we would use his name.
Me and DH had just spoken about using my uncles name as a boys middle name if we had a boy.
I could go on, but I thought maybe specific examples would show that I not only believe in them, but there is without a shadow of a doubt no way this man could have done and told me what he did.
What I think is funny is that people dont believe in mediums yet some of those people believe in Jesus and or God. How can you believe in something you dont know or cant see , and cant be proven , yet not another.
Opinions are one thing, saying that its impossible is narrow minded.

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
I'm still up in the air about it but have left myself open to believing in the possibility. Part of this has to do with two of my good friend each have a relationship with mediums.
My first friend is neighbors with one (who was mentioned in this thread). When she asked him what he did for a living he said he was kind of a therapist. Later another neighbor said "You don't know who he is? He's ___ and has several books. He talks to the dead." He is a very sweet guy. I would have to doubt that he would be scamming people about this.
My second friend is very good friends with another well known medium. They vacation with he & his wife, etc. While I had my doubt about him at first I went to a taping of his show - and was pretty surprised by the things he mentioned. We brought a friend who lost her husband in a helicopter accident. When he started doing the audience reading, he started talking about something significant that her husband had talked about before his death. Then went on to say that he was killed with a blunt blow to the head. Then said it was a transmission and said "Maybe he was a mechanic." When my friend answered that he was killed in a helicopter accident and the transmission is above them, everyone got chills.
So my long answer to your short question is there are things that happen that cannot be explained by science. I also think it may be too soon afterwards. You know he's out of pain - and if you believe in an afterlife, that he would be in a good place. Losing someone you love is not something you'll ever get over, you just get through it.

Re: Mediums, any thoughts?
I've been to a medium and I've been to a psychic. I'm a total believer in them (well the fact that there truly are real ones out there). The ones I went to were awesome and knew so much about my future that actually happened and my past and relatives that have passed away that came through.
