PLEASE POST WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST
Doctors visit! I have mine Friday I am excited and nervous at the same time!!! All you experienced mommies please comment!! ( I will be 10 weeks Saturday)

first off, get weighed and pee in a cup
they'll give you tons of packets of info, tell you all the things you can't eat, drink, do.....
they'll then check your cervix, give you an internal sono, maybe a pap (if you're due for one).
you'll get your fist pic of your baby bean

They will takes LOTS and LOTS of blood
7 vials at mine.
Mine clarified my history better and touched on a few things I have going on already.
Reviewed what meds I used to take and what I can't take.
Nailed down an EDD until my u/s.
Gave me a 'script for my u/s.
Got samples of prenatal meds
Scheduled my next visit
(I actually didn't get any packet, called today and found out I was supposed to get a packet, will get it at my next (3rd) visit).

I was scheduled for my first visit at 8 weeks but because I was so sick and worried about being dehydrated I called the doctor to see if he could take me sooner. When I went in I was about 6 weeks. I did the pee in the cup, they did my weight and BP. I also had to go for 2 blood works that week to check my beta's. I was then scheduled for an ultrasound to confirm viable pregnancy.
After the beta's and the ultrasound confirmed pregnancy they did not need me to come in for the 8 week appointment. They scheduled me to meet with the midwife where I was 10 weeks. At that appt she checked my cervix, gave me a whole bunch of info and a goodie bag of stuff. She also went over family history and the tests I'll have during pregnancy. That was my longest visit.
My next appt is next week when I am 14 weeks with the doctor and at that appt from what I've heard will be BP, pee in a cup, weight, check the HB and a how you feeling?

At my first appt I was 5 weeks. All they did was bloodwork (6 vials worth) and took my family history. At my second appt at 8 weeks, 4 days i had an internal sonogram. They didn't check my cervix or give me a pap (I had already had one in November). I also never received any packet of papers to take home. She just went over the usual do's and don'ts. At my second appt she also spoke to me about the 12 week ultrascreen and told me that it was optional and explained what it was so that i could make an educated decision about whether or not to have it done.
The best part was getting pics of our little bean to take home

Thats what I am sad about, i dont have any photo's. The ultrasound was done at the hospital and the hospital tech told me no they don't give out the photos  So here I am at 13 weeks and I dont have one sono picture. I am really hoping at my appt next week I can at least get a sono. They probably wont do one. But if no sono then hearing the HB will satisfy me

not necessarily, I did not have a sono at my first appointment...I had pap, internal exam, blood work, do's and don'ts
I did not have my first sono until 10 weeks

My first appointment at around 6 weeks consisted of:
1. Peeing in a cup
2. Getting weighed
3. Having a pap
4. Giving like 8 vials of blood
5. Getting a prescription for prenatal vitamins
