Has anyone ever done a zipline?

Do you think my 60 yr old Dad could do it?

i have!! its not scary at all.. unless of course you are afraid of heights.. the one i did though you had to hike thru the rainforest.. it was alot of strenuous walking at times.. but the zipline is fun!! (I would be worried more about the hiking for a 60 year old)

I have. It depends on the zipline and your dad's health. DD just did it at a b-day party last week, but it was geared for children.

I did one in Brazil a few years ago. Its not too bad. You hang onto the handle, and your in a harness. If he can take the speed and just hanging out there, then he should be fine.

I did it and prayed for my life the entire time. But on the other hand there was a 12 year old girl who made me look like a total pu$$y.

Anyway, like another poster said, I would be much more concerned with the amount of hiking and altitude involved. It can get pretty hairy if you aren't in decent shape.

I did it and it was the most fun ever! Like a PP said, I also did it in the rainforest and there was a lot of hiking uphill involved. I think if your dad is in good shape there shouldn't be a problem.

my dad is 58 and could definitely do it -- he has wanted to but my mom isn't a fan of it so he hasn't yet... but we did it in hawaii and it was a lot of fun. the tour people running it will help you if you need help and they can make your landings "softer" if you have bad knees or something -- i requested that b/c i have a bad knee and it worked out great.

it was a blast - best excursion we did on our HM!

I did and it's awesome. I did it on an excursion with our cruise. It was called the tree top adventure. I did an obstacle course that was all in the trees and it consisted of ziplines, rope bridges, planks and a bunch of other stuff. I am petrified of heights but I just made sure to never look down. I always looked at the tip of my toes and concentrated on my movements. It was a bit scary but fun. If he is in overall good health and just doing the zip line he should be fine. Some are you just sit in the harness and do nothing. The ones I did I actually had to use my hand (I had a glove) to control my speed. If he's doing an obstacle course that can be tough

Many times. At Boy Scout summer camp, we had an obstacle course in the trees. Swinging logs, climbing ropes, rope bridges, etc. The end of the course was the zipline. I loved it. The only stress factor is the fear. It's not hard on the heart (physically), so as long as he's up for it, he should be fine!

I have to check with DH, but the camp that he works at had a family day and he got an 83 (or 84?) year old grandma to go down the zipline at his camp. I'm sure your dad can do it!!!
