With your 1st how exact is the EDD?

Is it true that the first is a little early?

I am paying for my father to fly down for the birth. He missed my older brothers (at sea), he missed mine (traveling from base to hospital), he missed his 1st grandson’s (out of town) and he even missed my adopted twin brothers and sisters (out of town).

We are trying to be sure he’s here for me. Ain’t he sweet?

EDD right now is 9/7/08 and I’m thinking of flying him over on 9/1/08.

Now I wonder if I should just fly him over from my bday to his bday (Aug 20 to Sep 27).
Am I asking too much. Do I have more time????

Facts:
Dad doesn’t work – he does a lot of volunteer and charity work. No issue with time off
Twin boys are 17 and one is a Sr in HS the other a Jr – School starts Aug 25
Dad has to be in Chicago Aug 19 for my sister (Sis is going into the Navy)
The whole family will be in Chicago but no one really wants to force my brother (the only other one with a license) to drive back the 9 hours home alone. So I don’t think I can make him just take a plane from there.
Dad will have to take a bus to Kansas City to catch a NYC bound plane – 5hours

My DD was 2 weeks late.

i always heard the 1st was late.. up to two weeks..

my first-my dd was a week early.but there were issues surrounding my birth story that brought me to being induced.. she was in NO WAY ready to come out.and prob would've stayed in for another 2 weeks..

Ok, so Sept 1 through Sept 27th (four full weeks) should be safe?

aww.. yes. def.. that's so sweet that he's gonna come stay with u for a month.. but yep.. the doc won't let u go more than 2weeks late, but don't expect to be on time or early..

My first was 10 days late. Most doctors won't let you go more than 2 weeks past your due date before they induce you. Check with your doctor to see how long they'll let you go. My sister's doctor would only let her go 1 week past.

My 1st was 3 days early

With both girls i went into labor in my 39th week.

I had DD on my due date....but I was induced two days before that and that is how long it took her to come out!

i have always been very on time with my period, so for some reason i expected to be on time with DD. low and behold, my water broke the morning of my due date and she was born 19 minutes past midnight.
