How long is your dog home alone during the day?

How long is your dog home alone while you are at work? Marley is 7 mos old and DH and I are away from home for 9.5 hrs while we are at work. We currently have a walker come around 1:30 to take Marley out, but we are wondering if that will be necessary as she gets older.

Porter is just over a year and lucky will be 2 in march. THey are home alone any where from 8 1/2-10 hrs a day during the week and they are fine. Never any accidents.

8 to 9 hours. But we come home during the day to let them out!

Bella is alone for 8-9 hours at time. Never any accidents.

My dogs are alone 10 hours or so. They are in a big crate. They sleep most of the time. The fact that we have 2 dogs (from day 1!) they grew up together and keep each other company. One of the reason why we got them both at the same time.

Lilly is home alone for about 7 hours. She is crated during this time and doesn't have any accidents. She used to have accidents when she was younger, but not so much anymore (since she hit about 7 months).

Shea is home for 9 hrs... i always hate leaving her.. but we recently just got a really good baby gate and now she has full roam of the dining room/kitchen! it makes me so happy... occasionally she tries to get stuff off the table..but we have been better with not leaving anything on it!

When we were both working the dogs were alone for up to 10 hours. The age range at that point was 10 mos to 5 years.

Bella is 3-months old and is home alone during the day about 7-8 hours. We crate her and she never had an accident in the crate.

I try to run home during lunch and let her out when I can and DH is off 2X during the week, so the schedule seems to be working for all of us.

Daisy is free to roam the kitchen from 8:45am when DH leaves to about 4:50pm when DH gets home.

I leave at 8:15am and get home at 5:20pm each night.

So, basically, 8 hours.

8:30 - 5:30
She doesn't want to go out right away either.

Today is her first day out and about, so we will see what happens. I am hoping that in 3 mos or so, we can leave her home w/o having a walker come

5-6 hours a day.

Kevin puts her in her crate about 12:30 when he leaves for work and I get home usually about 8:30-9 to let her out. So I guess 9 hours.

I'm surprised by these answers, I was afraid we were keeping her in there for too long.

Anywhere from 9-11 hours depending on who gets home first. We leave a wee-wee pad out for her so she can pee if she needs to.
She's been out of the crate for over six months now.

see...you guys all leave your doggies and go to work and leave them on an average of 8-10 hrs.

I can do that..why can't I have a doggie? I don't have to have a puppy..I would adopt an older doggie.

DH won't get a dog because we aren't home...but most people aren't home all day.

She is alone about 10 hours per day. When she was a puppy (until about 8 months) we would have someone stop by and let her out or I would run home at lunch.
