calling all past ivfers
what can you do during the 2ww after a transfer. They keep saying they want me to take it easy, I get that...no working out. but what does take it easy mean. how much do you really need to take it easy?
I have read different things about having sex. Are we allowed to have sex?
I also read conflicting things on drinking, are you allowed to have one drink or no drinkig at all?
I am going to be away during the 2nd week and they said that I can go for a dip in the water, but only a dip. but am i allowed to go for a walk on the beach?
I know I have to ask the dr and nurses to be very specific, but i just wanted to see what you all did to take it easy.

No sex
a drink once in a while is fine
no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise
walking is fine

Definately no sex, no heavy lifting, no baths (so I guess that includes swimming). I would think walking is fine. I didn't drink, but I don't think having a drink would kill you (and would help to take the edge off!).

I didnt have Sex, I was advised not to. I didnt do any heavy lifting etc.
I drank a few drinks...I didnt really limit myself to anything other then what I stated above.

No heavy working out...walking is fine. Normal activities are fine.
There is a difference of opinions on the no sex, I didn't have sex just to be safe.
Drinking in moderation is okay.
I was told no pools, baths or hot tub. A walk on the beach is fine.
Sushi is fine....

I went to a Santana concert and danced my booty off.
I didn't change my daily routine - walks in the park, work, dinner out.....I didn't go swimming tho (not that I would have anyway - it was September).

They never really= advised me of much=personally..I would not eat sushi---do not go swimming..and drink if you want but only like one or 2...its not worth it.
I was not advised and went and bought dog food and was lifting 40 pound bags..I was lucky that did not affect anything.
I personally do not get it..its not like you limit yourself if you are getting prego on your own but why chance it.
I meant lifting by that last comment.
when I was doing the ivf thing. I was even told to have a drink at first not to wig doing the shots...
so it was a mild margarita and then a injection

thank you everyone. I just am trying to get as much feedback so when i'm away I don't freak out. they said a dip in the pool would be ok, but the emphasized DIP. DH said this just has to be the most relaxing vacation for you, there will be plenty of vacations where you can do all the activities.
