what a day... long

i've stated: things are rocky at home. we've been working on making things better. but anyone who has lived through this, knows this is HARD and HARD WORK

i'll do my best to keep this short..lol

even after fil's financial help, dh hasn't seemed to be getting it together. it came to a head this morning. dh feels that the only answer to our problems is to sell our house!! Chat Icon Chat Icon how dare he?! that was the straw that broke THIS camel's back.

it started a fire in my gut that i can't explain. i really felt threatened.

i put my foot down like never before!

i told him: i'm not giving up on our home without a fight. he can either join me or get out of the way. he can stay or he can leave.

i gave him a list of things that NEED to get done so that we can make this work.

it included:

*increasing our deductible on insurance to lower monthly payments
*cut our cable
*finish the winterizing of the house
*putting together an attack plan following oprah's debt diet

i even put my foot down about other things.

i took the reigns! i'm so tired of sitting on the sidelines and watching things go to he**

drum roll...

HE LISTENED!

things got done today.
i'm going to have to continue to take control, but it's working.

please pray that this is just the beginning

thanks for reading

Re: what a day... long

Good luck to you in your plans. One of the things they always say on the Oprah debt diet shows is if you can't afford your house, you might have to sell and rent. I hope that is not the case for you and I'm sure with you making the decisions everything will go great for you now.

Never give up your house, it'll be a h8ll of a lot harder to buy a new one the second time around.

Re: what a day... long

Congrats for taking this step. Sometimes you just have to be the one who controls everything, it makes it easier and creates less stress when there is a system - no matter who controls it!
