Babys R Us gift cards
I received an email from my best friend, this is what she said
"I saw on the news about a crazy scam where people are receiving gift cards as gifts at baby showers or whatever but when the person goes to use them it says there is no money because from the time the person purchased the cards and the time that the person receiving the card decides to use them someone else has taken the # from the back of the card while it was hanging in the store and has used all the money. the woman that were being interviewed said that babies r us did not want to honor the cards until they called the news and then they got their money. Babies r us is going to change their cards sometime later this year so that it will be a scratch off.
SO, if you get any cards maybe you should go to the store and tell them you want a store credit or something instead of the card so that this does not happen to you."

That's true. I hope to order my furniture this weekend so it shouldn't be a problem.

I can't see that being true. U bring the card to the register and tell them what amount u want to put on there when purchasing it.
There is no value when they are on the rack - can you imagine how many of them would get stolen if they were sitting there with $ outright on them?????????

what was happening is that after they copied the number down, they waited for each card to be activated. they would keep trying the numbers until they got to one that had been bought. this is what i heard anyway.
