Spinoff - Testing
What is the AFP? What does it test for? How is the test administered.
And typical how long does the Level II sono last?
I have an 8am appointment and I'm just trying to figure out how late I'm going to be to work.
TIA!

Re: Spinoff - Testing
AFP is a bloodtest that tests for spina bifida and neural tube defects.
The Level II can take 30-minute to 1-hour (depending on how cooperative your baby is).

Re: Spinoff - Testing
I just had my AFP yesterday at my 16 week appt. It took 20 seconds - it is a simple blood test. I wasn't sold on having it, but the nurse took my blood and that was that.
I just scheduled my level 2 and I have no idea how long that takes.
