Yes he did - and he told me to go straight to donor egg. But we gave it another shot - and now DD is 7 months old.

It also has a lot to do with the cause of IF.

I can tell you that after doing IVF and FET's for a year - every month....I was finally successful.
My doctor said it would be tough for me because of my age (41 when I started) but that it would work eventually. This kept me going through the year and lo and behold I am 13 weeks PG....

There are lots of graduates here who beat the odds. Like Pauline said, try to focus on those! Chat Icon

I've had 2 failed IVFs, but I have a condition that causes me to make genetically abnormal eggs. I knew this from the start.

Best of luck to you Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for all the input...You guys are very right- I really need to have the "it will work " attitude and stop worrying about what might make it not work until I have to...Im one of those people always preparing myself fot the worst which isnt always a good thing...I appreciate the honesty Chat Icon !!!!

Re: For those of you that have undergone IVF....

I too was convinced we would spend all the money we had in savings and be unsuccessful. I thought ti would never work after trying so hard and having a few different strikes against us.

I had hypothyroid, was overweight, had high FSH, a cervix that was scarred shut, history of M/c..and DH has ok count, but very low morphology ( almost non existent) ...

Long story short...DH would not let me believe it wouldnt work. he put ALL his faith in it and I had to try to think the same....And guess what, it worked..firsttry.

You have to believe, that hope helps...put it out there. NEgative thinking IMO brings negative thoughts.

Self preservation ( ie...thinking I will prepare for the worse) is easier to do, of course, BUT....I think its critical to believe you can and will have success.

WIshing you lots of luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: For those of you that have undergone IVF....

BOPS- i am alot like you, i am always thinking worst case scenerio..and i have fallen in the unlucky category for a few things but it is very encouraging reading what everyone has to say and i agree with trying to be positive..
I think IVF is pretty cool bc where else can you get a 50/50 shot per try to get a baby!! Thats what i keep telling myself lol..
When i came out of surgery last week, i swear i must have asked the doc 3 times while still in the OR, can i have babies!!!! He said, you will always have fertility options..thank god for that..
I lost my tube last week and found out i have endo..but i still have one that is kinda ok..so i may be heading to IVF this summer if i cant get preggo in the next 6 months...
good luck Chat Icon
