Consumer Reports without a doubt...it's worth paying to join, they have the best, most complete reviews. And you can compare vehicles...
Also, they accept no advertising so they are unbiased.

DH is a car guy and really like car and driver....
if you're looking for a recommendation- i LOVE LOVE my toyota RAV4! its the 2006... newer, slightly bigger body style. its so comfortable to drive, and great on gas for such a roomy car ( i get 23/24 mpg in town, and even more on the highway). DH is 6 foot tall and i'm only 5 feet tall, and we're both comfortable driving it, which really says a lot... definitely worth a test drive!

edmunds is very helpful. Also if you know the kind of car you are interested in do a search and see if they have a message board. When I was looking for my SUV I found a BMW message board that was very helpful. I also found a good Range Rover and Lexus one. They seem to be more informative.
