Ebay and XBox
Would you buy a XBox off of E-bay? I cannot spend $350 on a video game system but I want to surprise hubby. What do you think?

I have an old XBox I would sell you. I got DH XBox 360 for Christmas, so we are getting rid of the old one.

Microsoft makes XBox, so no, I wouldn't buy a SONY XBox off of ebay b/c it may be a fake.
Otherwise, again, no - I wouldn't buy a console off of ebay, and would buy from an authorized dealer, who provides support/technical assistance and a warranty.

Nice Katie, I didn't know you got that for Ray.
I would buy one from Katie first, but if you go the ebay route, make sure its a good seller (check feedback). Also check and see if they've sold other electronic items. Most sellers sell similar things (ie I sell cosmetics & clothes).

I didn't realize Microsoft made XBox. I know so little about video games 
But thank you for the input. Hmmm, I never even considered getting the X Box rather than the 360. We are not big gamers but our PS2 is not working right and he mentioned wanted PS3 but I am hearing 360 is much better.
Everyone is sold out. I don't know what to do

Have you tried Costco or Sams Club? Everytime we go to Costco, they have a pile of 360s.
We have a 360, and we've gotten the red X of death a few times (system crash), so I'm glad that we had a brand new one that had the warranty. Not sure that we'd be at all willing to get one on Ebay though. Could be dangerous in that you'd unknowingly buy bad equipment.
If you aren't interested in going online for Xbox Live, then you probably don't need the hard drive, though it is helpful for saving some of the bigger roll playing games.
(I swear I only know this much b/c DH talks about it a lot!  )

I find it odd that you can't find a 360...check target, walmart etc...
Ebay is a gamble due to the problems microsoft is having(had) You shouldn't have a problem online with ebay but you never know. Buy new and get a nice warranty.
As for 360 being better then PS3..that is a debate that will go on for ever. Each have there pros and cons. Most offer the same games. PS3 comes with a Blu-Ray player (which is 1 of the the new dvd format) while the 360 offers a ton more games. Both offer similar but different online services. You may want to ask him what he likes about each or ask him what games (types) he looks forward to...
Any questions, feel free to ask as I own all the gameing systems (Wii, Ps3 and x360)
