How much input did you have in your baby shower?

My SIL is throwing it, but has 2 under 2, and works full time, so she has been asking me basically everything, where to have it, who to invite, what games/activities, which favors, etc.?

Do you think there is such a thing as too much input in your own baby shower?

Depends how much input you want.

Personally, I really didn't want to be involved in planning - I have way too much on my plate right now.

I gave my mom my list and that was the last I heard of it until yesterday. Yesterday, she asked if I mind doing games and how much advance notice I want (so I look decent). I told her the games are up to her and I'll start dressing better on the weekends when I see a big dent in my registry

no, i had a lot of input for my shower too. my mom picked stuff out and asked my opinion.

Zero input, it was a total surprise!

I just asked it not be pink or blue and was not having any games either. Other than that, none and I don't care. IT was great to have people celebrating my daughters arrival.

A lot. I pretty much planned the whole thing b/c my mom was caring for my grandmother. I didn't want one, but my grandmother had been in a coma for my bridal shower and she was really excited about attending my baby shower.

Only my mom knew I was doing the planning, everyone still thinks she did it all.

I wanted to be involved so I could have control over certain things.

So far, I've made the final decision on date (I was given 4 options and had to choose 1) and final decision on location (I was given 2 options ).

My sister is by far doing majority of the work, but I appreciate the fact that she is allowing me to have some control.

Other than the invite list, nothing.

nothing at all. my friends were kind enough to throw me a shower, so i didnt want to dictate the details of the party, unless asked of course.

The only input I get is who to invite because my mom & sister wouldn't really know how to contact my friends, and my MIL wouldn't be much help with their family's list (planning my wedding with her "help" was nightmare enough). I sometimes think I would love to have other input, but it means a lot to them to do it themselves and surprise me, so I am keeping my mouth shut. Guess I won't get to plan what I will wear though.

I am doing everything but we are making believe that DH is orgaizing everything. Too long of a story to explain why I am the one organizing it - I wish I didn't have too. I am too exhausted from work & house renovations!

I didn't have anything to do with my shower, but I know plenty of people who helped or even planned their own showers.

I was involved in picking the date and the place. Everything else is being planned by my mom and MIL. I love knowing when it is, but I am happy that I don't know everything.

I know the date, but didn't pick it.

I communicated, I want it at my house and I want it catered.

But other than that, I don't know anything else, I just gave the guest list to my SIL and she is doing the rest with my mom and my MIL.

I knew everything except the favors and what games were going to be played.

I was hoping to have a lot, but the moms took over and I really didn't have to do much.

I do know when and where it is, I know the guest list, I know what the menu will be and that's about it.

I just asked that it be on a Saturday so I would have a day to relax and go through the gifts before work on Monday.
