we keep it up until after the Baptism of our Lord which is NEXT Sunday but this year we will take them down this week bc i dont want them in my wedding photos
but the Christmas season isnt over yet - dont be so quick to judge, i swear we arent lazy there is a reason behind it

I don't know, but I've heard that the traditon of lighting a candle in your window is because some believe Jesus will appear in human form during the Christmas season, as a traveller, beggar, etc, and you should leave a light to welcome Him. So maybe if you have your whole front lawn lit up you are trying to say
"pick, me, pick me!" 
We took ours down today, but I didn't really went too. I just thought next week would be too late, and I won't get to it during the week. I feel like I can't really enjoy them untill after the Christmas stress.
We went out tonight & I was jealous of all the trees & outside lights I saw. Even the town lights are still up.

My tree will probably stay up until next weekend. We put it up late this year due to family circumstances so I havent even had a chance to enjoy it.
Everything will stay up for one more week I think and I will ENJOY it!!!!!

ITA- to me it's better keeping them up for the full 12 days of Christmas than having them up way before Thanksgiving... that irritates me a lot more!
