Made a decision....

After speaking with my DH about the ordeal with my gyno today, we've decided that we are going to start TTC sooner than later. Being that PCOS might cause me more problems than we initially expected, we decided that we should start now instead of waiting until later. We aren't necessarily "ready" to become parents (I don't think anyone is really ready for such an amazing responsibility), but would rather be truly blessed with a baby now if it happens quickly than regret not trying sooner. I'm so glad my DH approached me about this and told me he's ready to start now.

That is great news!!! We made the same decision when I was diagnosed. We had planned to wait another year, but when we found out what a process it might be, we decided to be proactive and I'm starting my meds today!

Best of luck to both of you! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Looks like we're in the same boat! We can be TTC buddies since we're pretty much going through the same thing. What meds are you starting? And what did the doctor say about your PCOS? Have you changed your diet at all?

So glad to hear that you're beginning the journey. Baby dust to you! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would love to have a TTC buddy! Chat Icon

My RE said that she wanted to start me on Metformin AND Clomid together. Many people just start the Metformin, try that for a few months, and add in the Clomid later if still no ovulation. She said that only seems to work in about 20% of women, so she suggested a more aggressive approach.

Like you, my hormones are all out of whack--besides the absent AF, I started getting the dark hairs on my chin, and had no idea what was going on. The girls on the IF board have been my salvation--I never would have suspected PCOS if I hadn't shared my symptoms with them.

Let me know how your first RE visit goes! I had previously had a sono and bloodwork, so I didn't have any of that on my first appt. I'm taking Provera right now to bring AF, then I start with all of the monitoring. Should be interesting!

Best of luck, and keep us updated! Chat Icon

Looks like we're headed down the same road. It's nice to know that someone else will be going through the same thing as me at the same time.

I am going to suggest the metformin/clomid combo when I go to my RE appointment in a few weeks. I want to treat this more aggressively now that we've officially decided to TTC Chat Icon

Please keep me posted on your progress and how you're doing on the meds. I'd love to know how you're feeling.

You are now officially my TTC buddy!! Chat Icon

Good luck to you! Chat Icon
