Beta?
Does everyone's doctor schedule a beta? Mine just tells me to call when I get an BFP or AF.
Just curious...

Re: Beta?
My RE tells me the first day of IUI's when I need to come in for progesterone check, and my beta.

If you tend to have a normal luteal phase (14 days after ovulation you get AF), most Drs. won't bother with progesterone testing. If you have a short LP, then they would check your progesterone level because that is normally the cause. Since you are having IUI's without progesterone supplementation, it would be normal not to have a beta if you got AF. The only thing that surprises me is that they tell you to take an HPT...my old RE used to have me scheduled to come in for a beta 15 days after the IUI unless I got AF.

I might be putting words in his mouth - he would tell me to let him know how it goes after two weeks. I think I assumed I either get AF or take an HPT.

Me too - 14 days usually after IUI. They don't say "oh come in for your beta" but they do say if AF doesn't show by then I should come in for blood. The nurse tells me I can test at home starting at 13dpiui.
I don't get progesterone checks either but I always have a 13-14 day LP.

Re: Beta?
If I get a period then I call for an 11 day (or mid-cycle) sono to prepare for my next round of IUI. If I dont, then I take an HPT. If positive, I schedule bloodwork. If negative, I'd wait a couple of days, test again and then call. My cycles are pretty normal for the most part and going to the RE for a beta when I know I am not PG just makes me anxious. In fact, every time I go to the RE I get anxious.

Re: Beta?
I was told on my IUI cycles to call if AF was late. If she showed up I had to call to schedule cd3 bloodwork. So although I didn't schedule the beta, it would have been done if I was late.

Re: Beta?
Since i am on progesterone, I go for a progesterone check 7 days after O and then for a beta check 14 days after O. Since I don't get my period while on progesterone, I have to get my beta checked. Before going on the progesterone, I was told to call if I didn't get my period to come in for bloodwork.
