Question foe c section moms
I just scheduled my c section. My first one was kind of an emergency. I was wondering what to expect going into this. Is there anything to do to prepare. What can I expect when I get to the hospital? I'm really nervous about everything and just want to prepare myself as much as possible.

Re: Question foe c section moms
Don't be nervous! I had a great experience with my C section. All they had me do the morning of my surgery was wash the area with Dial soap and not eat anything from the night before. Other than that, I just showed up at the hospital, they got me in a gown, started my IV and then we walked down to the delivery room. Then they took my hubby and got his scrubs on while they gave me the epidural. They were so wonderful, tons of nurses there cheering me on and telling me that it was an exciting day, I think there was even music playing. Then they laid me down on the table and explained a couple of things to me while they put the curtain up and brought my hubby back in. My dr. came and they checked to see if I was numb by pricking me with something, but since I was numb, I obviously couldn't feel it. Next thing I knew, I was asking when they were going to start, but they had already! The anastesiologist stood right by my shoulder talking to me, and the nurses were talking to me saying, "Yay! We're having a birthday party!" They were really awesome and it was all over and done with in about an hour. Hang in there, it really was not bad at all. If you had an emergency C, this will be a breeze

Re: Question foe c section moms
I had an emergency for the first and scheduled for the second.
I will say it is different - since the first I was happy to have a solution for the labor pains. It's strange walking into the hospital with essentially nothing wrong KWIM?
As for being prepared - you know what recovery will be like, so make meals, try to clean (or have someone come to clean) enlist friends and family to help you when you come home and/or DH goes back to work.
FM me if you have any other qs

Re: Question foe c section moms
I don't think there's much you can do to prepare other than make sure that you bring very comfortable pants for after. You want pants that won't bother your incision. I would also say try to get as much done in your house and you can before because you may not be feeling up to it for a couple of weeks. If you're planning on BF then bring the boppy to the hospital as your incision area will be quite sore.

Same with me. I was induced but from the moment I found out I was getting a section this is how it went. It was great.
