Repost- im so confused

OK- for those of you who dont know... I got pg. shortly after getting engaged, and while I was currently pursuing my BA in education...
My pg. was totally unplanned however not unwelcomed....

Since having Ryan I have grown strongly attached, and def. @ times have some seperation issues...

Im def dreading going back to work- even though its only part time, and started thinking about when I go back to school...

I've lost serious interest in my major, and grown fond of the job im doing now (finances) so was considering switching my major to business...however I dont wanna let all the $ and time ive already put in go to waste!

The worst part is as time is flying past i cant help but break down at the thought of leaving Ryan every morn.. then spending a few hours with him and then leaving him everynight... I cant do it, I dont want to do it, I dont think its fair to him, or me at that!

I started considering going to vocational school, and getting some type of business certificate, or just looking for a better paying job with what I have now....

DH is supportive of whatever I decide, however unfortunately his parents helped us financially to get our place before the baby was born...which in the end is the reason why I can go to work part time...part of that deal was because they understood that I needed to finish school....

I just dont wanna answer to anyone...I have no idea what I wanna do anymore...I truely wish being a stay @ home mom was an option!

ok well i am not sure how far along your schooling is and how that would be effected by you moving south...

i would think about that first...
If you are going to be moving sooner than later then i would stop taking classes, work and be with your son.

You may have to transfer school and that very well may mean that you will LOSE credits, even ones you already have...depending on the schools..

Once you move then go back to school and no work, since that will be finacially ok for you.

BUT if you are close to graduation...finish

i see but IMO my son is more important (and if i felt that i needed to be with him more) than my in-laws being pissy

But that is JMHO.

Re: Repost- im so confused

Could you possibly go to suffolk and work toward your associates in business? Maybe just take one or two night classes? That way you could be working toward something that you're enjoying now, without having to spend too much time away from your son.

Best of luck!

Re: Repost- im so confused

I think teaching is a good career for being a mom--you get summers off, school vacations, but if you want to do a business degree, you could do something online to not take away time with your son.

Here's a list of SUNY online business degrees

Whatever you decide to do, I think you'll find you go further and get paid more with a degree, but the online route is an option if you choose to get a business degree.

It sounds like an online degree is the best option. Or can you mix up online courses wtih regular ones. That way you can get your degree faster.

I don't think your inlaws should be the decision maker. This is your life and you need to decide what is best for you. But personally, I think an education is best. In the long run- getting a degree is going to help your family- and your son. Facts are, people with degrees get higher salaries- and I think that could help any family.

Re: Repost- im so confused~I have a plan

Im going to speak to a counselor tonight..

I already have an AA in Education, so what I think Im gonna do is go back to suffolk and get another AA in business (it wont take 2 yrs. because all my basic classes maths, englishs. social studies, and sciences will fulfill some of the degree requirements...)

Im gonna start off part time ( maybe even continue going part time) and try to take mostly online courses...

When we move in a yr.-n-a-half... Ill be done with this AA, and then hopefully finish my BA in N. Carolina...

Thanks so much girls- esp. you Red...you guys really helped me clear my head, and made me not feel like a big loser for feeling the way I feel!!!

Hopefully when I speak to a counselor everything will fall into place.. ill keep you all posted!

Re: Repost- im so confused

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I can imagine how hard it is to be a mom, go to school and work. It is nice that your ILs helped you out but in the end it is your life and you have to do what is right for you, your DH and baby. The online school sounds like a great way to go!

Good luck and I'm sure you'll make the right decision!
