How many songs do you have on your Ipod?

Can everyone tell me around how many songs they have on their Ipod? I was debating between getting my boyfriend the Classic 80GB or the 8GB Touch. I decided on the Classic and bought it. I went to wrap it and noticed they gave me the Touch. On my receipt I was only rung up and charged for the Classic though. Now i'm trying to decide whether I should keep it or bring it back for the Classic with more GB's.

the classic has a huge memory--but to be totally honest, i mean do you really NEED to have like 10,000 songs at your fingertips? i don't.

i have the touch--its a GREAT gadget and has very cool features. i have the 8GB -- and i have 450 songs, about 10 photos, and 1 video on it, and i have approximately like 7 GB of memory left on it.

the wifi access on the touch is cool as hell--being ablet to surf the internet, access youtube, and download from iTunes directly is cool as hell. your guy will love it

I have an old 20g and I have well over 1000 songs on it...for me it's PLENTY of room. I will eventually want the touch though.

I have an old Nano 4G...I use most of the memory---a little over 900 songs. I don't really feel I need more space...

I was actually using a friends touch ipod and it is really really cool. If this gift is for someone who loves gagets and new technology this is a great gift...if its someone who is a huge music buff and video person who will be downloading tons of albums and such then the traditional one is the way to go.

I have a 30 GB video ipod and only have 250-300 songs on it. I have like 29.8 GB of memory left!

I have a 30 GB video...and I have about 2,000 songs on it.....and a few videos and movies...still have plenty of room.

How much does the Touch hold? i think only about 500 right? I think that's too small for the "average" iPod user.

I still have my 4GB mini - and I have never filled it - I could if I put every song I own on it, but alot of the stuff I own I don't listen to anymore

Even when I do have it pretty full - I find it annoying to scroll through 10 billion artist to find what I feel like listenign to right then.

Right now all that is on it is a book I put on to listen too while DH and I drove out to CT this weekend

Apple says the touch will hold about 1,750 songs.

I have 4,500 songs on my 30GB, I would def go with the 80GB- granted no one needs 10,000 songs....but how bout 5,000 songs - 1,000 pictures - and 5 movies or TV shows?

I have the 4 gb nano, and I love it. I have about 700 or 800 songs on it now, and I still have enough space.

i have a 40 gig (or maybe 30) and i have about 3000 songs on it, plus 6 movies, some photos and a bunch of games. i bought the 8 gig touch in september and hated it. i found the touchscreen really hard to use, especially since i walk to work and you have to pull it out of your bag and really look at it to change the song or volume. with the clickwheel it's much easier. i also found it a pain in the butt to use the volume adjuster on the touch. i don't have steady hands and it would get too loud then too soft then back to too loud again. i could never get it slide just a little.

with all that said if he's someone that's going to use it mostly for music the touch is probably fine (provided he likes the touch screen). if you think he'll use it for movies a lot then 8g will not be enough space.
