ay carrumba!
they are either cheap and yuck or nice and
my own vanity would not allow me to go the $55 route for polyester/polysatin.
so I went raw silk.
and I went bankrupt.
but the kid will look cute. and I can stand up there with pride.
I would have felt terribly standing up there with an obviously cheap choice, when people believe/know dh and I could have spent the few extra bucks.
it's awful. there is no middle ground.
Sears and JC Penney had basically the same stuff, and the feel of the materai was enough to send my sensitive skin crawling.
thank GOD it wasn't for a girl. the dress I loved was $400. but should I give birth to a girl, it's MINE. I already told dh.
who thinks I am nuts.
but I told him I'll just lie and hide the receipt.

You are an excellent godmother
Think of it this way, if it is good quality, it can become an "heirloom."
We have a Chistening outfit in my family that has been worn by 4 generations, including by my grandmother in 1919.

If you give birth to a girl, name a big spender as the Godmother!
