? about Dr office mistake..

My moms Dr. sent her lab work to the wrong lab (she has Oxford and the Dr sent it to Quest...which just about everyone who has oxford knows they dont accept Quest anymore)... now Quest sent her a $200 bill. Would you call the Dr to complain?? They clearly sent it to the wrong place so why should my mom be responsible for the Drs mistake? Who is right here? WWYD? TIA!

eta: they never asked my mom where to send it...they did it on their own

I would call the doctor's office & tell them they're going to have to pay.

My doc did that and I called to complain. The doctor's office ended up calling the lab and the lab just wrote off the bill. It was the doctor office's fault since they had the correct insurance info and sent it to a non-par lab.

Call you doctors office, it is their mistake and they will clear it up, they will probably write off the balance

i work for a dr's office and if they do that then she will need to call the md's office that did that and they will have to call over to quest and get it written off. She isnt responsibility for the MD mistakes.
