Update- Wed afternoon
Just got home. I had my bloodwork done first then went for a sonogram. He saw 1 follicle on my right ovary that he said was 10 and he couldn't (as usual) get a good shot of my left ovary, so I don't think he's sure how many are there. I am going to wait for my estridiol results this afternoon- once they get them they'll call me again and he told me most likely I'll have to go in to get bloodwork again tomorrow morning. He said if he had to guess that I'd be ready towards the end of this week or early next week to do the IUI. So, though I'm sure I'm goign to not like the results I'm going to ask anyway- w/ IUI do I just keep doing the injections and then have DH give me the Ovidrel when they tell me he should? Are there any other needles? Is the Ovidrel a big needle? Getting very nervous over here...
ETA: I spoke in more depth w/ MY dr this morning about DH's low morphology results from his SA. He also said that he didn't feel that it was as big of a deal since DHs count was 332.8 million sperm, he felt that the high # would compensate for the low morphology. Feeling more relieved about that too
UPDATE: Ugh- the nurse just called. My estridiol dropped from 106 down to 63 She said I have to up my injection dosage from 150 to 187 for tonight and tomorrow night and then get bloodwork done on Friday. I just called DH and told him if he got work on Friday he should take it b/c now I'm thinking some day next week will be the IUI. This is so frustrating--- I want to get to the IUI already and find out if it works- I'm running out of time on my medical and every day is like torture.

Re: Back from the dr- Wed am
Ovidrel is a tiny bit bigger than the Gonal-F needles. But you still won't feel a thing. You will keep going with the Gonal-F till they tell you it's time to trigger. My RE has us do it at 11pm, then go in two days after for the IUI.
You'll be fine - good luck.

Re: Back from the dr- Wed am
I've taken both the HCG and Ovidrel. the ovidrel you can take the same way you take your fsh injection. It is a little bit bigger, and pinches a little bit more, but it's not a big deal. good luck

Re: Update- Wed afternoon
Shannon you need to chill!!! LOL. The injectibles will not work overnight. I know the end of the year thing is weighing on you but don't let the negativity ruin this cycle for you.
The same thing happened to me with my estrogen level last cycle when I was on my low dose, so they upped me and all of a sudden boom, it jumped right up. This is your first month so a lot of it is still experimenting with what is the right dosage for you. You will find it. TRUST me you will be done with the IUI before the end of the year. It's only December 5th.

Lol- thanks Carolyn! I seriously do need to chill- I'm just so used to having cycle after cycle fail and hearing how my estridiol dropped and boom- that's it- time for a new cycle. I almost thought that's what she was going to say to me today, but I guess w/ injectibles it's different? I'm hoping to follow your lead on this one-- we've been similar w/ our reactions to meds so far so here's hoping!

It is different with Clomid and injectibles...they can adjust the dosage in the middle of your cycle. Here are my E2 levels for last cycle: 52.5 62.2 - bumped up dose 68.2 57.6 - bumped up again 112 228 385 605 844 -trigger/IUI
So it took a while for me too. I stimmed for 14 days total. My dr. actually said that it would help with overstimming because you are starting with a low dose...exposing your follies to just a little bit of the FSH so only the best ones will end up growing and not all of them at once. You will be fine, don't get discouraged!
Believe me, you are much better off having it take a long time then overstimming.
